Bookbinding Workshops — Feb 7 & Feb 10

A Wonderful Opportunity to Make Something Special for Your Valentine!

One-Day Workshops:  Join us for a fun hands-on class to learn the classic art of bookbinding.  Each student will have the opportunity to complete two books while learning how to create the cover, the process of binding and several creative methods to construct a book.  There are a variety of book styles that can be created, ranging from small soft-backed journals to ornately decorated hardbound books.  Ages as young as five permitted if accompanied by a parent.

Painting Studio (ages 9-17)

Painting StudioWeekly Studio Class:  Working 1:1 with the instructor, students will have fun developing and refining their painting skills as they learn about basic art elements through applied design principles. Experimenting with a variety of techniques and materials, they’ll explore realism, impressionism, fauvism, surrealism, abstract expressionism and more!

Ceramics Studio (ages 9-17)

Weekly Studio Class:  Focusing on hand-building as well as throwing on the wheel, this class is for beginning through intermediate students. Instructor demonstrations enable students to explore new techniques and directions.

3D Media Studio (ages 9-17)

Weekly Studio Class:  Students will study the elements of form, space and texture as they work with various clays (ceramics, polymer and air-dry) and sculpting materials (wire, paper mache, found objects and more). They’ll study the work of many sculptors while creating their own unique pieces which express their individuality.

Manga (ages 13-17)

Weekly Studio Class:  A term referencing the graphic novels or comics originating in Japan, Manga has become a description for the highly stylized artwork found in the printed form, but also in video games and animation. Whether a long time Manga fan, a newcomer, or someone with a passing familiarity, this class will look at the multitude of different styles and give students the opportunity to mimic them, as well as begin crafting their own.

Drawing 2 (ages 13-17)

Drawing 2Students will hone their rendering skills through a series of intermediate to advanced lessons. Thorough exploration of a variety of drawing media will enable students to identify their preferred techniques and master their own unique drawing style.
