Class: Intro to Drawing
“I have been doing art at Museo for at least two years. I love my Intro to Drawing class because it is so fun. I feel good about my Celtic Spiral, I used colors that would stand out. I really enjoy drawing dogs.” ~Jonathanfully to the task at hand, showing great imagination and skill. He is fun, as well as very respectful of his teacher and fellow students. I picked his Celtic Spiral because of it’s intense detail and symmetry. The way he designed the frame shows how his skills are continuously growing and developing. This is a beautiful work, truly representative of how I hoped the project would turn out. It was an inspiration to other students doing the project.

Food, music and creative fun – ingredients for a fabulous Friday night out just for kids! Each month highlights a particular artist or school of art. We’ll kick off the evening with pizza while the instructor shares some interesting facts about the artist. Then, we unleash our independent creativity! Kids can choose to draw inspiration from the featured artist or explore the materials on their own. The “open studio” style workstations are dedicated to clay, painting and drawing. Experience each, or spend the entire evening at just one – it’s up to you!

Student of the Week — 02/28/12

Class: Manga
Pascal has such a distinctive style that shows up every week in whatever prompt we happen to be working from. The thought she puts in to each piece shows in her careful linework and character design. Every major project in the class has brought something beautiful and surprising from whatever media Pascal is working with. She describes herself as more comfortable in front of a computer, but she creates just as easily with graphite or Copic markers.

Bring on the fun! Add a Noon-1pm Lunch Hour to your child’s camp experience to extend a half-day camp or to combine morning and afternoon camps into a full-day camp. Lunch hour includes supervised games and activities. Meals will not be provided. Please bring a disposable sack lunch clearly labeled with your child’s name. NO NUTS PLEASE!
